The story of Nina, a playwright and stage actress whose tireless social activism puts her at odds with the pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary Iranian governments and ultimately lands her in jail. Through her struggles we see the challenges faced, especially by female activists, in trying to educate and galvanize the oppressed masses to demand their freedom, equality, and happiness.

ساختار و زبان و تم ساده و قابل دسترس برای عموم روبروست. راوی از موضع جوانی روشنفکر خوب خوانده حرکت
میکند و با طرح مباحثی در هنر و ادبیات و سیاست به داستان خود رنگ و جلای متنوعی میدهد. طوری که گویی گاهی در
مقام روزنامه نگاری چیره دست ظاهر می شود و گاهی مثل سیاستمداری آشنا به پیچ و خم های فرهنگ غرب سخن می
گوید … در رمان نینا خواننده با یک مضمون خاص رویرو نیست» بلکه مثل زنبور عسل ناچار است روی مضمون های
گوناگون بنشیند و شهدی نوش جان کند. راوی در همه این مسیرها به نقد قدرت حاکمه می پردازد و از پیدا و پنهان در
آوردن سیستم های استبدادی و تمامیت مستقر در ایران پرده بر میدارد. در این رمان راوی وارد گفتمانی می شود که هر
نوع خشونتی را نفی می کند» چرا که علاوه بر شغل دانشگاهی یک پژوهشگر ادبی است و نه سخن گو و نظریه پرداز یا
میلیشیای حزب يا احزابی که می بایست تا پای جان بایستد تا عملا از اهداف آگاهی دهنده اش حراست کند. ساخت چنین
شخصیتی در رمان فارسی و با اینهمه تنوع نگویم بی نظیر بلکه کم نظیر است.

Nina is a girl educated in a cultured family and a fighter with human values” without religious thoughts and independent of references to the supernatural like post-Renaissance humanists. Ravi” immersed in the classical poems of Iran and at the same time affected by the metaphysics that these poets have conveyed to us… as if two eternal friends near and far are drinking life together and all the hardships.
