The story of Nina, a playwright and stage actress whose tireless social activism puts her at odds with the pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary Iranian governments and ultimately lands her in jail. Through her struggles we see the challenges faced, especially by female activists, in trying to educate and galvanize the oppressed masses to demand their freedom, equality, and happiness.

Nina is a girl educated in a cultured family and a fighter with human values” without religious thoughts and independent of references to the supernatural like post-Renaissance humanists.
